Forest View Hospital, a private psychiatric facility near Grand Rapids, Michigan, seeks a Psychiatric Triage/Intake RN for a fulltime 36-hour weekly schedule (12-hour shifts, 7:00pm-7:30am). The role involves interviewing patients, documenting medical history, and coordinating admission processes with ARC and physicians.

Qualified candidates will have Michigan nursing licensure, psychiatric/assessment experience, and CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in the state of Michigan (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Previous Psychiatric Nursing or Assessment experience.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance sensitivity, diplomacy, sound judgment, and a professional attitude during admissions.
• Provides support to ease patient anxiety during intake and admissions.
• Documents patients' medical history and findings as part of the assessment and admissions process.
• Accompanies the patient to the unit and assists with the transition.
• Performs duties with interruptions, in close quarters, and under time constraints.
• Maintains knowledge of legal nursing aspects and hospital policies.
• Handle crisis calls, make referrals and complete assessments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
