Job summary

Forest View Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Psych RN for the Weekend Nights shift. The position is part-time (24 hours/week) with 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am, serving adolescents and adults with various psychiatric disorders in a warm, therapeutic environment.

Ideal candidates will have RN licensure in Michigan and 6–12 months of pediatric/adult psychiatric nursing experience, with CPR/Handle With Care preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• 6–12 months of psych nursing preferred.
• Current Michigan RN licensure.
• Clinical competency in general and psychiatric nursing.
• CPR/Handle With Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a warm environment and guides new RNs.
• Acts as back-up point of contact when Charge is unavailable.
• Provides leadership in crisis behavioral management.
• Develops initial nursing treatment plan using the nursing process.
• Assesses and plans care for patients with co-occurring disorders, eating disorders, and trauma.
• Supports discharge planning and patient at discharge.
