Job summary

Greater Baltimore Medical Center is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide direct patient care for psychiatric and Emergency Department patients. The RN will collaborate with health-team members, delegate to support staff, and direct care to meet patient needs while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act.

The role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing with occupancy of RN license in Maryland; BSN preferred and psychiatric certification encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited school required; BSN preferred.
• RN with national certification in psychiatric nursing encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and gather case history using the nursing process.
• Plan and implement nursing care based on psych- and medical needs.
• Administer medications and monitor responses, including psychotropic drugs.
• Coordinate with physicians, psychiatrists, and care teams for treatment planning.
• Document patient status, progress, and discharge needs.
• Provide patient and family education and support.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethics after care.
