Ohio Department of Veterans Services is seeking a registered nurse to lead nursing operations at the Sandusky Veterans Home. You will oversee RN/LPN/STNA staff, implement policies, and ensure quality care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Nursing leadership and clinical policy development responsibilities are part of the role.
  • Includes QA, audits, quality improvement metrics, wound care program development and cross-department coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in development, implementation and monitoring of quality assurance programs and nursing policies; liaises between nursing/medical services and other disciplines.
  • Assumes leadership of nursing personnel on designated unit; coordinates care and supervisory duties.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assists in the development, implementation & monitoring of quality assurance programs, development & implementation of nursing policies & procedures, serves as liaison between nursing/medical services & other disciplines.

  • Assumes leadership of nursing personnel (RN, LPN, STNAs & support personnel) on designated nursing unit.

  • Prepares for on-site clinical & operational audits & annual surveys as well as assisting with development & monitoring of quality improvement projects & clinical metrics.

  • Develops, implements, & evaluates the agency’s Wound Care Program.

  • Acts as resource person to department heads/supervisors and the agency.

Qualifications

Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code; 36 mos. exp. in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities; completion of undergraduate core program in nursing; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in supervision; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in management; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in counseling; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in public relations.
