Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a Contingent Clinician for the Psychiatric Crisis Department. The role offers a minimum commitment of 16 hours per month with flexible day, evening, overnight, weekend and holiday shifts based on availability.

Responsibilities include providing mental health therapy to children and families, documenting assessments, and coordinating with the crisis team and psychiatrist. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is required with Ohio licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy is required.
• Experience providing behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents and families is required.
• Independent Ohio license is preferred; Doctorate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing specific, measurable treatment goals and objectives.
• Accurately assesses and documents client problems, history, symptoms, mental status, and diagnosis.
• Prescribes initial interventions in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with the team psychiatrist and other providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Completes clinical charting and related admin paperwork per policy.

Job Description Summary

Provides mental health therapy services to clients in a behavioral health agency setting, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote recovery and improve overall well-being.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Assists in developing specific, realistic, and measurable treatment goals and objectives.
• Accurately assesses and documents client presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status, and diagnosis.
• Prescribes initial interventions in a timely manner.
• Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations.
• Remains current in general knowledge of psychopharmacology in pediatric behavioral healthcare and collaborates consistently with team psychiatrist.
• Coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care.
• Completes clinical charting and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with policy standards.

Education Requirement

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and FamilyTherapy, required. Doctorate, preferred.

Licensure Requirement

Appropriate Independent Ohio License, preferred.

Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, peers and community representatives.

Experience

Experienceproviding and managing behavioral healthcare to children, adolescent and families, required.
