Job summary

Devereux/TCV Community Services is hiring a Part-Time Diversion & Acute Stabilization (DAS) Psychiatric Counselor for the Homestead, PA area. The role focuses on guiding adults with behavioral health challenges, participating in treatment activities, and supporting recovery goals.

The position offers a collaborative team environment, tuition assistance, a 403(b) retirement plan, paid training, and student loan assistance. Weekend evenings schedule with competitive pay up to $25/hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social/human services, or related field required.
• Prior experience working in social services with adults with behavioral health disorders preferred.
• 18 years of age or older required.
• Valid driver's license (Preferred).
• Agree to PA state criminal history, child abuse record and FBI Clearance; pre-employment drug screening, TB and physical.

Responsibilities

• Encourage individuals to meet their recovery goals by actively participating in treatment and therapeutic activities.
• Monitor individuals’ physical and emotional well-being; use de-escalation and emergency techniques when necessary.
• Develop and teach strategies to promote wellness and independence.
• Collaborate with the treatment team including psychiatrist, therapist, nurses and service coordinators.
