Job summary

NC Health Caldwell Memorial Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to provide safe, supportive care in a behavioral health unit. Under supervision, you will assist with daily living activities, orientation of new patients and families, and participate in therapeutic milieu activities.

Responsibilities include de-escalation, data collection, and collaboration with RNs and physicians to support patient plans of care.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant experience in a behavioral health environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
• Fluency in verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Aid in orientation of new patients and families to the unit.
• Provide direct patient care and assist in activities of daily living.
• Assist with de-escalation and safety of patients as directed by RN/physician.
• Document patient information and report changes to supervising staff.
• Support therapeutic milieu and participate in group sessions as directed.
