Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Mental Health Worker to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of an RN or physician, supporting patients across age groups with daily living activities, personal care and psychosocial support.

Responsibilities include rounds, admissions/discharges, hygiene, meal assistance, safety checks and accurate documentation. Requires a high school diploma; one year psychiatric experience and CNA certification in NYS/CT preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of prior experience in a psychiatric setting is preferred.
• Certified Nurse Assistant by NY State or Connecticut Department of Health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or physician.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Perform basic clinical tasks within the MHW scope of practice.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharge and transfers.
• Provide morning and evening patient care and assistance with meals and feeding.
• Take and record vital signs and monitor patient conditions, reporting changes to RN.
