Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas is seeking a Psych Tech to assist with patient care under the supervision of licensed nurses. You will document vital signs, intake/output, and activities in the electronic flow sheets and assist with activities of daily living.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate communication, and adherence to care plans, with opportunities to perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing after training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–6 months of related patient-care experience preferred or required.
• CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire; TO within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides designated patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Record graphics, intake/output, and ADLs in the computer and flow sheet.
• Perform phlebotomy, 12 lead EKGs, FSBS testing, and POC testing after training.
• Communicate observations to the licensed nurse to assist in care planning.
• Utilize equipment and assist with cleaning, sanitation, and tracking of supplies.
