Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Inc. seeks a Behavioral Health - Psych Tech for the Children's Unit (7A) in Beaumont, TX. The role provides designated patient care under a licensed nurse, performs nursing-related tasks, and supports care planning according to physician orders.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, FSBS, and POCT after certification, with attention to psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and maintaining equipment and supplies in the unit.

Responsibilities

• Provides designated patient care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with physicians' orders and in conformance with approved patient care standards.
• Obtains instruction and supervision as necessary when implementing nursing procedures; performs patient care activities based on nursing skills with supervision.
• Performs phlebotomy, 12 lead EKGs, FSBS testing, and POCT after certification and training.
• Communicates observations to the licensed nurse to assist in care planning.
• Maintains knowledge of patient population baseline conditions and assists in nursing interventions as needed.
