Job summary

ViaQuest Psychiatric & Behavioral Solutions in Portsmouth, OH is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care for children, adolescents and adults with psychiatric and behavioral health needs. You will conduct health screenings, monitor vital signs, administer medications, educate clients and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and case managers.

Occasional travel throughout the service area is required.

Qualifications

• RN license required and nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Experience in psychiatric/behavioral health settings preferred.
• Willingness to travel across the assigned service area.
• Experience with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Address behavioral and physical health needs of clients with psychiatric symptoms.
• Perform health screenings and check vital signs.
• Administer injections and other medications as needed.
• Monitor and adjust medications.
• Educate clients on pharmaceuticals.
• Gather client information and history with Nurse Practitioner.
• Coordinate case management and community services.
• Assist clients in building skills in emotion, stress and anger management, and communication.

Responsibilities may include:

• Address the behavioral and physical health needs of clients receiving treatment for psychiatric symptoms.
• Perform health care screenings and check vital signs.
• Administering injections and other medications as needed.
• Monitor and administer medication.
• Educate clients on pharmaceuticals.
• Gather client information and history from the Nurse Practitioner.
• Case management duties including coordination of community services.
• Assist clients in building skills including emotion, stress and anger management, communication and interpersonal relationships.

Requirements for this position include:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license.
• Experience in psychiatric, mental and behavioral health services.
• Willingness to travel throughout assigned service area.
• Preferably has experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
