Job summary

Universal Health Services’ Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time role in psychiatric care. The RN will assess and treat diverse patient populations, including children and adults, following nursing processes and physician orders.

The position emphasizes safety, milieu management, and crisis intervention within a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications include Florida RN licensure, an associate degree in nursing, CPR, and at least one year

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's Degree.
• Current Florida RN license required.
• Minimum of one year related psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• CPR Certification required.
• Hours: Day Shift 7 AM–7 PM with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.
• Assess patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plans as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and chemical dependency disorders and apply appropriate treatment interventions.
