Job summary

University Behavioral Center in Orlando, FL seeks a dedicated Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our mental health team. The role emphasizes safety, compassionate care, and recovery across pediatric to adult patients within a 112-bed inpatient facility on a 14-acre campus.

We offer day/night shifts, a $3,000 sign-on bonus with commitment, and robust benefits including medical/dental/vision and a strong residency and education program through UHS. Florida license required.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Florida (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65+.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ mental health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention and supportive counseling.
• Perform physical examinations and vital signs monitoring as required.
• Engage in patient education regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in psychiatric nursing.
