Job summary

Southridge Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Psychiatric Registered Nurse for a 16-week temporary assignment on 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7:30am), with potential extension up to six months.

The RN coordinates patient care with the interdisciplinary team and supervises Mental Health Technicians to ensure safety and patient comfort for adult and geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (RN).
• Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• License: Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of Michigan required.

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is a beautiful and new state-of-the-art facility. As a joint venture with the Trinity Health System and Universal Health Services, we serve up to 96 adult and geriatric patients across four units.

This position supports our team as a Temporary Assignment for 16 weeks on 12 hour night shifts, with the possibility of extension for up to 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for RNs who are interested gaining hands-on experience in Psychiatric Care without a long‑term commitment. As a temporary position this is not eligible for our benefit programs, we offer exceptional pay of $60/hour. Current or recent employees of UHS are not eligible for this program.

Position Description

The Registered Nurse RN coordinates and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with the interdisciplinary team in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. They oversee and direct the Mental Health Technicians on their units to provide for the safety and needs of the patients.

Location and Hours

7pm to 7:30am, three shifts a week, including every other weekend. We are located on the south side of Grand Rapids, near the intersection of M-6 and Byron Center Ave SW: 6291 Venture Hills Boulevard SW, Byron Center, MI 49315
