Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL seeks a Registered Nurse to provide psychiatric nursing care across child, adolescent, geriatric and adult patients, using the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation of care, administration of medications, and crisis intervention.

Day shift opportunity with rotating weekends. The role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), Florida RN license, and CPR certification;

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program; Associate's degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current Florida RN license.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Day shift hours: 7 AM–7 PM with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.
• Assess patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and apply treatment interventions.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
