Central Florida Behavioral Hospital, a 174-bed psychiatric facility in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide clinical care for pediatric to adult patients, including chemical dependency cases. You will assess needs, develop diagnoses, plan and evaluate care, administer medications, ensure safety, and participate in milieu management and crisis intervention.

Qualifications include Florida RN license, an Associate's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), CPR, and 1 year psychiatric

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required. BSN preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida required.
• Minimum of one year related experience; psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• Hours: Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.
• Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment.
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
