Job summary

McKim & Creed is seeking a PSM Project Surveyor / PM to oversee the technical production of survey projects in Tampa, FL, ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, schedules and budget adherence. You will coordinate field work and QA across teams to deliver high-quality results.

The role requires a PSM license, a bachelor's degree in surveying (or equivalent), and 5+ years in land surveying/geomatics, with proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • PSM Professional Land Surveying License required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Land Surveying & Geomatics including Topographic & Boundary surveying, Construction staking for large Civil Land Development projects.
  • MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D with Trimble Business Center strongly preferred.
  • FDOT project experience is highly desired (Districts 1, 5, 7).
  • Must work with field crews and CAD technicians; analytical and detail oriented.

OVERVIEW:

Our PSM Project Surveyor / PM is responsible for the technical production of survey projects. The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity and meets regulatory requirements) of work, meeting schedules, within budgets and responsive service to client. Organize technical production, direct field work, checking work (quality control) and communicating with project manager.

DURING YOUR WORKDAY, YOU WILL:
  • Be responsible for the technical and professional production of survey project(s).
  • Work with these primary objectives: quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity and meets regulatory requirements) of work, meeting schedules, within budgets and responsive service to client.
  • Organize technical production, direct field work, check work (quality control) and communicate with others.
  • Coordinate the production to cover all details so that the quality is present, and budgets and schedules are met.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Surveying preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
  • PSM Professional Land Surveying License required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Land Surveying & Geomatics including Topographic & Boundary surveying, Construction staking for large Civil Land Development projects.
  • MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D along with Trimble Business Center strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working FDOT projects is highly desired (Districts 1, 5, 7)
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Must be able to work and communicate with field crews and CAD technicians.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, a cleared criminal background check and drug test.
