Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking a PSM Project Surveyor to lead technical production of survey projects. The role focuses on quality, schedules, budgets, and responsive client service, coordinating field work and ensuring thorough QC. A PSM license and 5+ years of surveying/geomatics experience are required.

Preferred skills include AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center, with Civil 3D and MicroStation experience a plus. Strong communication with field crews and CAD technicians is essential.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Surveying preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
  • PSM Professional Land Surveying License required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Land Surveying & Geomatics including Topographic & Boundary surveying, Construction staking for large Civil Land Development projects.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D along with Trimble Business Center strongly preferred.

OVERVIEW

PSM Project Surveyor is responsible for the technical production of survey projects. The major objectives are the quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity and meets regulatory requirements) of work, meeting schedules, within budgets and responsive service to client. Organize technical production, direct field work, checking work (quality control) and communicating with project manager.

DURING YOUR WORK DAY, YOU WILL:
  • Be responsible for the technical and professional production of survey project(s).
  • Work with these primary objectives: quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity and meets regulatory requirements) of work, meeting schedules, within budgets and responsive service to client.
  • Organize technical production, direct field work, check work (quality control) and communicate with others.
  • Coordinate the production to cover all details so that the quality is present, and budgets and schedules are met.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • A bachelor's degree in Surveying preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
  • PSM Professional Land Surveying License required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Land Surveying & Geomatics including Topographic & Boundary surveying, Construction staking for large Civil Land Development projects.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D along with Trimble Business Center strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working FLDOT projects is highly desired (Districts 2, 3, 7).
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes.
  • Must be able to work and communicate with field crews and CAD technicians.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, a cleared criminal background check and drug test.
