Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced EHS professional to lead the Process Safety Management (PSM) program across multiple facilities. You will oversee MOC reviews, PSSRs, PHAs, MI, and ERP development to ensure safe, compliant operations in a high-hazard environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field
• 6+ years in a high-hazard industry focusing on PSM
• Extensive knowledge of PSM regulations incl. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119
• Experience overseeing PSM/PHA/RMP audits and reporting
• Understanding of ASME, NFPA, ANSI, IBC/IFC, RAGAGEP, API standards
• Knowledge of lean, SPC, root cause analysis and PFMEA

Responsibilities

• Lead the Process Safety Management program and ensure OSHA and EPA compliance
• Manage day-to-day and long-term priorities of the process safety program across Blue Origin facilities
• Lead MOC reviews and ensure documentation per PSM requirements
• Facilitate Pre-Startup Safety Reviews for new/modified processes and equipment
• Oversee Mechanical Integrity program including inspection/testing schedules
• Lead PHAs (HAZOP, What-If, LOPA, Fault Tree) analyses
• Evaluate overpressure/overtemperature and reaction hazards
• Provide SME input for design/test reviews focusing on PSM
• Perform periodic safety program audits across sites
• Develop and maintain ERP plans for PSM processes and incident responses
• Prepare/submit reports to federal/state regulatory agencies
• Support job hazard analyses and risk assessments including JHA/HAZOP
• Develop PSM metrics and present findings to leadership
• Mentor/train employees on EHS programs and hazard study outputs
• Identify capital projects to improve PSM compliance
