Job summary

RTX in East Hartford is seeking motivated engineers for the Engineering Development Program (EDP). You will rotate through three disciplines—12 months, 9 months, and 9 months—gaining breadth and depth in mechanical and aerospace engineering while contributing to propulsion testing and validation activities.

The program offers on-site collaboration, career development, and exposure to planning, testing, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM field obtained by start date.
• Willing to travel up to 80% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

Validation Engineering is responsible for the planning, assembly, and testing of commercial and military development engines and ensuring they meet customer, quality and safety requirements. As the focal for the Engine Integrated Product Team (EIPT) we compile the relevant requirements, coordinate the instrumentation and assembly of all necessary hardware and support equipment, conduct the specified test objectives and record the relevant data in support of validation and certification.

What You Will Learn:

Candidates hired will begin their first 2.5 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP). This program consists of three rotations that are 12 months - 9 months - 9 months in duration and typically occur in three distinct disciplines within the hiring department. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Data Science or STEM major obtained by start date.
• Have an accumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Must be willing to travel up to 80% of the year domestic and international in support of commercial and military programs.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Prior internship experience with Pratt & Whitney or other Raytheon Technologies companies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a consistent record of collaboration, innovation, and initiative

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
