Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking a PRT System Operator to oversee the Morgantown PRT network, ensuring safe and reliable transport for students, staff, and visitors. You will monitor CBTC/SCADA systems, coordinate with maintenance personnel, and manage incidents with quick, decisive actions to protect riders.

The role requires an Associate Degree or equivalent plus experience in transit or computer systems, and entails night shifts, weekends, and overtime with drug testing due to safety

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in transit systems operations, computer systems, or related fields.
• Experience with fast-paced, safety-critical environments is a plus.
• Drug testing is required as this is a DOT position.

Responsibilities

• Operate CBTC/SCADA to safely manage PRT operations and passenger safety.
• Coordinate maintenance responses and power control during anomalies and incidents.
• Maintain logs, reports, and assist with public announcements and platform safety.
• Support maintenance activities and ensure regulatory documentation is completed.
