Job summary

West Virginia University is hiring a PRT Vehicle Technician I for the Facilities Operations department in Morgantown. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance and repairs for the Personal Rapid Transit system, with shifts including weekends and potential overtime, across the transit infrastructure.

You will perform maintenance on hydraulics, pneumatics, suspension, and other systems, repair guideway structures, and assist with emergency response and safety training.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; an associates degree in mechanical or electrical systems is preferred.
• 0–6 months of mechanical maintenance/repair experience.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
• All qualifications must be met by time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry level mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair actions (hydraulics, pneumatics, suspension, steering, brakes, doors, modules).
• Repair PRT guideway structures, stations, buildings, fences, and supporting equipment; perform scheduled maintenance and general repairs.
• Learn and participate in emergency response plans for unplanned events.
• Operate project-related equipment and tools; communicate with PRT staff via radio.
• Assist in PRT vehicle recoveries and training for MOCU operation.
• Interpret manuals, schematics, and drawings; maintain tools and area; manage keys and access.
