Responsibilities

This individual will serve as the organization's primary technical authority for Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE), helping clients and internal teams design, deploy, migrate, optimize, and support enterprise virtualization environments.

Key Responsibilities

Training & Enablement

• Deliver Proxmox training programs for internal engineering, sales, and technical support teams.
• Create technical documentation, deployment guides, standard operating procedures, and best-practice resources.
• Conduct workshops, webinars, and hands-on labs for employees and clients.
• Mentor engineers and support personnel in Proxmox administration, troubleshooting, and architecture.
• Maintain technical certifications and stay current with Proxmox product updates and industry trends.

Consulting & Solution Architecture

• Serve as the lead technical advisor for clients evaluating or adopting Proxmox virtualization solutions.
• Assess existing VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix, Xen, or other virtualization platforms and recommend migration strategies.
• Design highly available, scalable, and secure Proxmox‑based infrastructure solutions.
• Participate in client discovery sessions, technical assessments, and strategic planning engagements.
• Develop statements of work (SOWs), project scopes, architectures, and implementation plans.

Solution Delivery & Implementation

• Lead Proxmox deployment and migration projects.
• Configure and optimize:
• Proxmox VE clusters
• High Availability (HA)
• Ceph storage
• ZFS storage
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Networking and VLAN architectures
• Security and access controls
• Execute migrations from VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V, and other virtualization platforms.
• Validate system performance, resiliency, backup, and recovery capabilities.
• Assist project teams with implementation, testing, and knowledge transfer.

Support & Operations

• Provide Tier 3 and escalation‑level support for client and internal Proxmox environments.
• Troubleshoot virtualization, networking, storage, and performance‑related issues.
• Perform health assessments and recommend optimization improvements.
• Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.
• Establish monitoring, reporting, patching, and lifecycle management practices.

Business Development & Practice Growth

• Support sales teams through technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer meetings.
• Develop service offerings, implementation methodologies, and support models related to Proxmox solutions.
• Contribute to marketing content including blogs, webinars, case studies, and technical whitepapers.
• Help establish Technology Architects as a trusted Proxmox consulting and support partner.
  

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with virtualization platforms.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE) administration and architecture experience.
• Experience designing and managing clustered virtualization environments.
• Strong understanding of:
• Linux administration
• KVM virtualization
• LXC containers
• Networking concepts (VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs)
• Storage technologies including Ceph, ZFS, SAN, and NAS
• Experience performing virtualization platform migrations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work directly with clients in consulting and advisory capacities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience migrating workloads from VMware vSphere to Proxmox.
• Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery platforms.
