Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in the United States is seeking a senior migration architect to plan and execute VMware-to-Proxmox transitions. You will design enterprise-grade Proxmox clusters, manage storage via Ceph or SAN/NAS, and coordinate migration waves with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong Linux admin skills, virtualization expertise, and experience with automation tools. On-site collaboration in a large data-center environment is expected.

Qualifications

• Proxmox VE version 9.X expertise.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter administration.
• Migration planning and execution from VMware to Proxmox.
• Linux administration across RHEL/Ubuntu/CentOS.
• Ceph storage architecture experience.
• Networking and security in enterprise environments.
• Automation using Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform.
• Kubernetes/OpenShift & Public Cloud experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess VMware infra including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, storage and networking.
• Identify workload dependencies and migration constraints.
• Design target-state Proxmox architecture and validate compute/storage/network requirements.
• Develop enterprise-grade Proxmox clusters with HA and scalable storage.
• Create migration roadmaps, cutover schedules, and rollback procedures.
• Lead pilot migrations and production waves, ensure minimal downtime.
• Coordinate testing, hypercare, and knowledge transfer.
