Job summary

Headway is building a national network of therapists who accept insurance and delivering a platform to make mental healthcare accessible. As an Engineering Manager in the Provider group, you will lead and grow the engineering pods behind provider experiences, supporting people development, strategic planning, and hands-on technical guidance.

You will shape team structure, processes, and the way we build for scale.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.
3-5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Strong product mindset and cross-functional relationship-building.
Experience building high-performing teams and delivering business outcomes.
Technical foundation to guide teams in architectural decisions.
Experience working across teams and functions.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to build scalable systems for rapid experimentation and long-term growth.
Drive alignment on process, prioritization, and product outcomes within the team.
Develop and grow your team through mentoring and 1-1s.
Support and guide engineers, shaping how teams operate and deliver user-centric experiences.
Contribute to broader company strategy and product roadmap.
Shape how teams use AI tools to accelerate engineering work while maintaining responsible practices in healthcare.
