Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, NY, seeks a Provider Onboarding and Retention Coordinator to guide physicians and providers through requisition, onboarding, credentialing, retention and off-boarding processes, ensuring a positive start and ongoing engagement.

Under supervision of the Director of Physician Recruitment and in collaboration with the VP of Operations for the Medical Group, this role coordinates staffing, onboarding schedules, and stakeholder communications to streamline

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Five years of related experience, including healthcare exposure.
• Strong project management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through.
• Excellent communication including marketing, persuasion and negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Assess staffing needs and facilitate staffing decisions with leadership.
• Manage requisitions and postings; use ATS to streamline recruitment.
• Oversee onboarding, credentialing, HR docs, and orientation activities.
• Collaborate with MVHS MSO to manage credentialing files and workflows.
• Develop tailored onboarding schedules with leadership and directors.
• Communicate onboarding status and address outstanding items with providers.
• Assist providers and families in acclimating to MVHS and Utica.
• Schedule regular check-ins to monitor integration and retention; follow up with hires.
