Job summary

Louisiana Blue is seeking a unit supervisor to oversee daily operations and provide leadership for a 12-person team in the medical coding and insurance disputes area.

You will coordinate workloads, guide complex cases, and ensure compliance with state laws and accreditation standards. Residency in Louisiana is preferred, with a strong emphasis on accurate coding, claims processing, and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• 5 years of insurance experience including disputes, appeals and grievances, adjustments and customer service.
• 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience.
• Must read and interpret benefits for all lines of business and provider contracts.
• Knowledge of accreditation guidelines, state laws, and related PC software.
• Experience with claims processing and complex appeals functions; familiarity with Facets, Epic, MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent time-management and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily operations of the unit and staff, ensuring service levels.
• Leads as a back-up for assigned staff and coordinates workload.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and contract terms.
• Acts as SME for complex cases, including disputes and appeals.
• Monitors trends, performance metrics and operational efficiency.
• Maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
