Job summary

Highmark Health is offering a Summer 2027 Provider Delivery Software Engineer Undergraduate Internship designed to give hands-on experience in enterprise-scale software development.

You will work with software engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to design, develop, test, and support applications powering provider demographics, directories, credentialing, pricing, and provider portal experiences.

Qualifications

• Full or part‑time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders during planning, design, and implementation of software features.
• Under supervision, provide entry‑level software engineering services across the lifecycle from design to testing and deployment.
• Participate in projects to develop professional skills and technical capabilities within the Provider Delivery organization.
• Assist in planning and implementing unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise and ability.
• Conduct research and reporting inclusive of recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
• Engage in related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the operating unit objectives.
• Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
