Job summary

Highmark Health offers a Summer 2027 Provider Delivery Software Engineer Undergraduate Internship to gain practical, hands-on experience in enterprise‑scale software for provider‑facing healthcare products and services.

You will collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and analysts to design, develop, test, and support applications powering provider demographics, directories, credentialing, pricing, and portal experiences.

Qualifications

• Full or part‑time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.
• Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and internal/external stakeholders in planning and resolving day‑to‑day operational problems.
• Under supervision, provide entry‑level professional services with guidance, training and mentoring from senior personnel.
• Participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise aligned with the organization’s needs.
• Plan and implement unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise and ability.
• Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit.
• This position adheres to ethical and legal standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Software design and development, coding, testing and documentation.
• Participation in agile ceremonies and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Provide services aligned with day‑to‑day operating objectives under supervision.
• Contribute to planning, research, and reporting with recommendations for action.

Education
