Job summary

Secant Career is seeking a Prototyping Technician to support the product development team by setting up textile equipment and producing prototype samples according to engineering specifications.

You will operate looms, knitting, or braiding machines, interpret specifications, and document steps to ensure repeatability and quality across development runs.

Qualifications

• MS Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook) is preferred.
• Ability to read/comprehend SOPs and quality docs.
• Good attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Set up looms, knitting, or braiding machines to run development samples.
• Read and interpret engineering specifications for machine setup.
• Operate equipment to produce prototype samples and adjust to maintain quality.
• Document process steps and ensure repeatability for future runs.
• Collaborate with operations to scale sample production and provide feedback on warps/beams.

Job description

Prototyping Technician works with the product development team to set up various textile equipment in an effort to produce sample products based on preliminary engineering specifications.

Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm with training on 1st shift for six months

What you will do:

• Uses advanced knowledge of textile processes to set-up looms, knitting, or braiding machines to complete development runs.
• Reads and interprets engineering specifications for transfer to machine needs.
• Operates machines to run prototype samples and performs in-process adjustments to produce a quality product.
• Follows all applicable standard operating procedures, work instructions, and R&D specifications.
• Documents process steps to ensure future repeatability.
• Works with operations team to scale-up sample runs.
• Provides feedback to Yarn Prep to ensure warps and beams are created to specifications.
• May assist knitting, weaving and braiding functions during peak periods and operate machines.

Who you are:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of textile processes is preferred but not required
• Must be able to read/comprehend Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures, as well as protocols, and other established procedures.
• Basic understanding of GMP and working within regulated industries.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Moderate experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to multi-task change direction with shifting priorities.
