Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an Engineering Lab Technician to support rapid prototype development and rigorous testing in Rogers, MN. You will build test prototypes, run standard tests, and assemble setups with minimal supervision.

Candidates should have a 2-year technical degree and 2+ years in lab test/development, with strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and proficiency with lab equipment and data acquisition. Role includes data reporting and ongoing lab maintenance.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in lab test and development but flexible for the right person, even if they have little to no experience
• Demonstrated ability to set up all tests without supervision.
• Excellent mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• Knowledge of general lab practices, tools, and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with computers, data acquisition equipment, lab instrumentation, and shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Build up of test prototypes with minimal supervision.
• Run tests to company standard test procedures.
• Make test set-ups without supervision.
• Collect test data and monitor long-term tests.
• Report test results, including completion of lab test request form, writing formal reports when appropriate.
• Participate in lab maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Actively participate in quality improvement activities.
• Actively take initiative to increase technical proficiency.
• Knowledge and use of test procedures.
• From the test results identify any design or manufacturing errors/issues to the project team.
• Outline procedures to be included in the instruction manual on new products.
• Design and construction of simple test fixtures.
• Other duties as assigned.
