Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC in Owatonna, MN is seeking an engineering support professional to assist automotive engineers with testing and troubleshooting prototype designs. The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, data gathering, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

On-site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with a pay range of $26–$32 per hour. Travel within Minnesota may be required. A High School diploma and basic automotive knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Willingness to submit to pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle report screening.
• Knowledge of fundamental automotive technologies.
• Familiarity with basic vehicle systems including on-board controls, engine performance and ABS.
• Basic computer proficiency with MS Excel and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Support vehicle content development through requirements, design, development and QA phase.
• Gather information from vehicles, OE testers and benchmark tools.
• Validate proofs of concept and development artifacts on bench and vehicle.
• Access and research new information related to vehicle data, service instructions and manuals.
• Identify and procure vehicles for analysis, development and validation.
• Utilize automotive bus analyzers and diagnostic equipment to ensure product quality.
• Apply knowledge of vehicle mechanics to validate designs.
• Research and apply new technologies to improve the design process.
