Job summary

Actalent in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Assembly Technician to test, assemble, and troubleshoot UAV electronic systems, including PCBA and harnesses, in a hands-on role supporting prototype and production.

You will work with engineers, read drawings, and use oscilloscopes and soldering tools to ensure quality in a mixed development and manufacturing environment. This contract-to-hire role offers daytime hours and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electronics testing, assembly, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with circuit boards, PCBA, and system-level electronics.
• Soldering, wiring, and harness assembly.
• Experience in aerospace/defense electronics.
• Knowledge of IPC standards (J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620).
• Proficient with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power supplies.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, and validate electronic assemblies and embedded systems for UAVs.
• Build and assemble prototype electronics including PCBs and harnesses.
• Perform quality inspections and functional testing to meet specifications.
• Support engineering with assembling/testing prototype hardware.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Use standard test equipment to bench-test and troubleshoot.
• Read diagrams, schematics, and work instructions for accurate wiring.
• Execute test procedures, calibration, and inspection steps for compliance.
• Perform electronics repair and root cause analysis on boards and assemblies.
• Support system integration activities for avionics and embedded systems.
• Document test results and procedures clearly and traceably.
• Contribute to both development and production environments.
