Job summary

John Crane, a Smiths Group company, is seeking a Test Technician to join the Innovation Group. You will lead the assembly of prototype mechanical seals, conduct tests, analyze data, and document findings to ensure prototypes meet product requirements. Maintain a safe work environment and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

You will interpret drawings, support test plans, and contribute to the design of test equipment and SOPs while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
• Apprenticeship in manufacturing with a mechanical engineering focus is preferred.
• Technical hobby with analytical or creative thinking is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test prototype products.
• Interpret engineering drawings, test specifications and requirements.
• Assist innovation and engineering teams with test plans and experiments.
• Record processes and present data/results to stakeholders.
