Job summary

Micro Matic is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assist in prototyping and revisions of prototype assemblies. The role emphasizes high quality, craftsmanship, and keeping to the assigned schedule (OTD).

You will work with engineers to discuss design, capacity and materials, review specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan layouts and determine sequence of operations.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant Mechanical Assembly experience.
  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Experience creating prototypes highly desirable.
  • Ability to understand mechanical systems and perform assembly tasks with Development Basis information provided.
  • Need to understand the How & Why in order to makes sense of the What.
  • Ability to understand Engineering Drawings and design intent.
  • Ability to train effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and proactively with production management and team.
  • Broad range of Production Tasks.
  • Mechanical Assembly – Use of tools (manual/powered).
  • System Testing/Debug.
  • Packaging/Crating.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the manufacturing of Prototype Assemblies of new products or new revision of existing products.
  • Discuss product information with engineer and other personnel to plan layout and determine sequence of operations.
  • Assess written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations.
  • Operate tools and perform mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Test and verify product assemblies as required.
  • Package/crate finished prototypes for transport.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but structured written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Eye protection and safety shoes are mandatory for this job.
