Job summary

Orscheln Products is seeking an assembler in Missouri to produce prototypes and short-run parts, following blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions with limited supervision.

The role requires collaboration with Engineering and tool room to develop and fabricate components, ordering parts as needed, and maintaining neat logs while upholding 6S and safety guidelines to ensure quality, safety and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Reading skills required.

  • Blueprint reading ability.
  • Measurement tools and computer skills.
  • Follow directions accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety-critical functions per designated specs with no deviation.
  • Recognize and call out critical characteristic symbols from blueprints.
  • Work from sketches, marked prints and verbal instructions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and tool room to develop and fabricate parts/assemblies.
  • Order parts from internal warehouse to complete builds.
  • Inspect components using measuring devices and record data neatly.
  • Maintain logs of parts used and completion dates.
  • Follow all 6S & Safety Guidelines (Safety, Sort, Straighten, Scrub, Standardize, Sustain).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Eligibility:

Must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent lawful resident of the U.S.

Summary

Assemble all types of Orscheln Co. products in a manner which produces a cost effective, quality product, safely and on time. Often times will require working with little or no supervision, and must rely on knowledge of product and processes required to build prototype parts and short-run production orders.

Participate actively in team operations, and work toward cost reductions and design improvements to all product.

Preferred Educational Experience

High School degree or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Work Experience

Prior assembly experience required, preferably five (5) years minimum. Experience with Quality Assurance type functions and documents and prototype fabrication preferred.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to perform all safety critical functions. The product must be built to the designated specs approved and can not be deviated or substituted. The control, performance and tolerance are essential for the part to function so that it does not jeopardize public safety or it’s compliance with government regulations.
  • Must be able to recognize and call the critical characteristic symbols as listed on the blueprints.
  • Frequently working from sketches, marked up prints and verbal instruction will be required.
  • Work closely with Engineering and tool room personnel to develop and fabricate component parts and/or assemblies.
  • Order parts as required from internal warehouse operation as required to complete the assigned build job.
  • Must have general knowledge of measuring devices as required to inspect component parts and final assemblies, and ability to record such data in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Maintain logs of parts used, completion dates, etc.
