Job summary

Lenovo in Morrisville, NC is seeking a skilled Hardware Development Lab Technician to support server hardware development, prototype assembly and daily lab operations.

You will assemble, rework and install components on prototype servers, manage lab parts and coordinate with procurement, while maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with server hardware and be able to work independently alongside engineers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics or related field.
• Hands-on experience assembling, repairing or troubleshooting server hardware.
• Experience with soldering and rework of electronic components.
• Ability to read schematics, BOMs and engineering change documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience using purchasing or ERP/inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and configure prototype server systems per engineering specifications.
• Perform board-level rework, soldering and component installation.
• Manage lab supplies, procurement coordination and purchase requests.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and organize lab spaces.
• Ensure safety, quality and compliance in lab operations.
