Job summary

Magna Seating seeks a Prototype Buyer to procure parts for seat prototype builds, coordinating with engineering, program teams and suppliers to meet budget and schedule. You will evaluate quotes, maintain supplier data, and ensure quality and process standards across ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949.

Three years of purchasing experience preferred; strong negotiation, CAD familiarity and MS Office skills are important for success in this role at Magna Seating in Novi, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or bachelor’s equivalency in Business Administration or related field.
• Three years preferred experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Strong verbal and written communication and technical presentation skills.
• Basic competency in CAD and familiarity with MS Office or similar tools.
• Ability to manage supplier quotes, costs and timing for prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Prototype Buyer responsible for procuring parts for prototype seat builds within budget and on time.
• Source suppliers, obtain at least three quotes, and evaluate accordingly.
• Maintain supplier lists, surveys and performance reports annually.
• Issue POs and coordinate with engineering and program teams.
• Ensure ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 compliance for the site.
