Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment, automotive preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma and structured problem-solving.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with CAD and manufacturing documentation tools.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and MES systems.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Support new product launches, engineering changes, and line transitions—including process layout, work instructions, PFMEA, and control plan updates.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, efficiency opportunities, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Automation teams to integrate tooling, fixtures, and equipment upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including process flows, standardized work, job breakdowns, and training materials.
  • Lead and support problem‑solving activities for scrap, rework, downtime, and quality issues.
  • Provide daily technical support for production lines, onsite with operators and supervisors to resolve issues.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams focused on process capability, ergonomics, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all engineering work aligns with safety requirements, quality standards, and company operating procedures.
