Job summary

Honda is seeking a Prototype Paint and New Model Prototyping Engineer in the United States. You will analyze design and layout during the Prototype phase, ensuring paint quality and developing countermeasures with design and test teams to meet project goals.

Responsibilities include painting, color matching, sealer and coating applications, and collaboration across departments to drive high-quality prototype vehicles while adhering to Honda Engineering Standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of science in a relevant field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 0-2 years related work experience.
• High attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle body construction and sheet metal fabrication.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Basic CATIA V5 operation.
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Paint prototype body parts and vehicles to match design specifications.
• Mix paint to match factory or custom color specifications.
• Apply sealer, powder coating or A-rank level paint.
• Collaborate with design and test teams to achieve project goals.
• View Catia design data and analyze part quality for issues.
• Support process manuals and document issues during prototypes.
