Job summary

IEM in Tualatin, OR is seeking a Metal Fabrication Technician (Tech) to join our prototyping team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabrication, metrology, and setting up and operating laser, punch, router, and bending machines to produce metal parts.

You will document processes, work from drawings, and assist engineers in testing low and medium voltage power distribution equipment. The role requires independence, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fabrication experience, preferably in mixed metal fabrication.
• 1–2 years in document control or training.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fabricating machines (press brake, laser/punch, CNC router).
• Manufacture metal and plastic parts to specs and schedules.
• Assemble and test units according to drawings and work instructions.
• Accurately measure using 3D scanners, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and report progress.
