Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to ensure efficient prototyping and development across our mechanical engineering team. You will collaborate with mechatronics, software, and systems engineers to bring prototypes to life, maintain BOMs, and manage hardware configurations for fast, quality builds.

You’ll lead the project management embedded within the team, push ECOs through controlled releases, and optimize processes to support ongoing product development and hardware upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Be the glue to pull disparate teams together to hit key milestones and goals through the product development process
• Manage the Bill of Materials for our products making sure it is up to date and usable for ordering, cost analysis and tracking development status
• Push ECOs through the release process and ensure they’re implemented in a controlled manner
• Develop spaces for builds including workspace, tools, shelving for inventory and finished goods
• Manage inventory for prototype and integration builds including receiving parts, QA, stocking parts and prepping for builds
• Ensure prototype builds run smoothly and quickly; run daily standups or other work-tracking to keep builds unblocked
• Organize and plan work, motivate team members, track progress and issues, communicate with stakeholders, close out issues
• Manage the configuration of our fleet of prototype printers; maintain up-to-date inventory, status and use
• Improve processes across mechanical engineering to support smooth development of products
• Broadly support the mechanical engineering team and manager as project manager embedded in that team
