Job summary

AHU Technologies Inc is seeking an experienced Class A Machinist to join our team in New Mexico. The role requires working from technical drawings to produce precision components with tight tolerances, using CNC and manual machinery.

You will set up tooling, fixtures, and workholding, and verify setups and programs prior to machining. Responsibilities include in-process inspections, use of precision measuring tools, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Class A Machinist to join our team! Someone skilled with strong knowledge of machining practices, the ability to work from technical drawings and specifications, and a commitment to producing high-quality, precision work.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment to manufacture precision components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, tolerances, and work instructions
• Perform machine setups, including selection and installation of appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding
• Verify programs, tooling, offsets, and setup requirements prior to machining
• Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet drawing and customer requirements
• Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection tools
• Maintain close tolerances and consistently produce parts that meet quality requirements
• Identify machining or quality issues and communicate concerns to supervision and Quality Assurance
• Complete required job travelers, inspection documentation, and other production records accurately
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition
• Follow company quality procedures, safety requirements, and applicable customer requirements
• Assist and provide guidance to less-experienced machinists when needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Class A, Senior, or highly experienced Machinist in a precision manufacturing environment
• Strong CNC machining and setup experience
• Ability to independently set up and operate machining equipment
• Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and tooling selection
• Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and specifications
• Working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances
• Proficient with precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Experience:

Experience with CNC lathes and mills, multi-axis machining, CNC programming, CAD/CAM software, and precision machining of complex components is preferred. Experience working within a controlled Quality Management System or manufacturing parts to stringent customer, nuclear, government, or other highly regulated requirements is also beneficial.
