Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Michigan is seeking a motivated Student/Co-Op Engineer to support inspection and quality teams. You will work across programs, evaluating component drawings, planning inspection procedures, and collecting data to improve part quality.

Qualifications include a 3.0 GPA, strong math and communication skills, and familiarity with GD&T and print reading. You will program CMMs (Zeiss Calypso) and help maintain equipment, with safety and quality standards guiding every task.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Print reading with GD&T understanding to ISO / ANSI Standards.
  • Understand basic engineering theory and principles of design.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate component and assembly drawings; plan inspection procedures.
  • Program CMM (Zeiss Calypso) and other inspection equipment.
  • Provide first piece inspection data for prototype machinists and technicians.
  • Perform inspections of components/assemblies to ISO/ANSI standards.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration compliance.
