Job summary

Magna Powertrain is seeking a Tooling Engineer to design, develop, and launch tooling for manufacturing processes across stamping, molding, machining, and assembly. You will evaluate tooling performance, lead procurement and startup activities, and develop standardized work instructions and process parameters.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3–5 years’ related experience, CNC programming skills, GD&T proficiency, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience creating Manufacturing Process Prints, Standard Work Instructions and Job Element Sheets.
• Experience with CNC programming; automotive engineering; transmission components & machining (turning & grinding).
• Familiarity with GD&T and ability to read technical drawings.
• Proficient in English communication (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

Must have experience creating Manufacturing Process Prints, Standard Work Instructions and Job Element Sheets. Must have experience with CNC programming; Automotive Engineering; transmission component & machining (turning & grinding); laser welding; induction heat & cert; spline; cutting & rolling. Familiarity working with various machining equipment including CNC lathe and mill. Induction hardening preferred. Working knowledge of G-code programming and operations. Must be proficient with GD&T. Excellent organizational skills. Able to effectively communicate with customers, peers, management, and plant personnel effectively (written and verbal). Required to be proactive and suggest improvements to existing processes policies and systems. Self-starter who is positive and professional. Ability to set priorities and multitask projects. Able to work hours required to comply with deadlines and to support corrective actions when they are needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attendance and satisfactory work performance record.
