Job summary

Magna International in Michigan is seeking a student/Co-Op to support the inspection lab, assisting with projects at multiple levels across the program.

The role involves evaluating drawings, programming CMMs (Zeiss Calypso), recording results, and ensuring ISO/ANSI compliance, with collaboration across Magna facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Strong math skills.
• Print reading with GD&T understanding to ISO/ANSI Standards.
• Working knowledge of computer-based software.
• Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate component and assembly drawings, plan inspection procedure.
• Prepare documentation for recording inspection results.
• Program CMM (Zeiss Calypso) roundness gauge, profilometer, contour reader and other inspection equipment.
• Provide “first piece” inspection data for prototype machinist and technicians
• Perform inspections of components and/or assemblies to ISO / ANSI standards.
• Assist / support additional Magna facilities as required.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration compliance.
