Job summary

International is seeking a Commercial Vehicle Diagnostic Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex electrical and electronic issues on medium- and heavy-duty prototype vehicles. You will use diagnostic software, CAN analyzers, and NEXIQ interfaces to identify root causes and support system validation.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• 2+ years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience experience

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex electrical and electronic issues on medium- and heavy-duty prototype vehicles.
• Utilize production and prototype diagnostic software, along with diagnostic tools such as CAN analyzers and NEXIQ interfaces, to identify root causes of vehicle faults and support system validation.
• Interpret and utilize wiring schematics, electrical system documentation, engineering drawings, and schematic software to support troubleshooting, repair, and development activities.
• Perform wiring harness repairs, modifications, fabrication, and rework to support prototype vehicle builds, testing, and development activities.
• Document diagnostic findings, failure modes, and potential design-related concerns, maintaining accurate records of troubleshooting activities, repairs, modifications, and test results while communicating technical findings and identified design issues to responsible engineers.
