Job summary

Figure is an AI robotics company in San Jose, CA, seeking a Wire Harness Technician to design, build, and test wire harnesses and custom cables for rapid hardware iteration. You will work in a fast-paced prototyping environment, reading drawings, and ensuring IPC/WHMA standards with aggressive delivery timelines.

The role requires 2–5+ years experience, in-office collaboration five days a week, and hands-on skills in crimping, soldering, and testing using DMMs and cable testers.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years building wire harnesses and cable assemblies in manufacturing or prototyping environments.
• Ability to independently design and execute custom cable builds for test/prototype use.
• Ability to read prints/schematics and follow work instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in crimping and soldering with appropriate tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build wire harnesses per prints, BOMs, and work orders; apply final terminations.
• Create custom cables for test setups, EVT/DVT, and rapid iteration needs.
• Collaborate with engineering/test teams to translate test needs into cable solutions.
• Read drawings and record traceability in ERP/routers; follow ECOs.
• Crimp/verify terminals with appropriate tooling; document pull tests when required.
• Print and apply labels and heat-shrink markers per print.
• Perform electrical tests: continuity, insulation, hipot; troubleshoot with meters.
• Maintain 5S/ESD and safety standards; suggest improvements for testability.
