Job summary

Figure AI in San Jose, CA is seeking a Wire Harness Technician to design and build wire harnesses and custom cables for rapid hardware iteration. You will work in a fast-paced prototyping environment, creating production-quality harnesses from drawings and BOMs while meeting IPC/WHMA standards.

You should have 2–5+ years of hands-on harness and cable assembly experience in manufacturing or prototyping, with proficiency in crimping, soldering, and reading schematics. In-office role, 5 days/week.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years building wire harnesses and cable assemblies in manufacturing or prototyping environments.
• Ability to read prints/schematics and follow work instructions with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in crimping and soldering, including shielding/drain wires and coax.
• Hands-on experience with IEC/IPC standards and fast-iteration environments.

Responsibilities

• Build build-to-print and custom wire harnesses, including cut, strip, crimp, solder, braid/sleeve, heat-shrink, basic potting, and final terminations.
• Create custom cables and harnesses on demand to support test setups and rapid iteration.
• Partner with engineering and test teams to translate test needs into practical cable solutions.
• Read and follow drawings, schematics, BOMs, work orders, and ECOs; record traceability.
• Crimp and verify terminals/contacts with specified tooling; document pull tests when required.
• Print and apply labels and heat-shrink markers per print.
• Perform electrical tests: continuity, insulation/hipot, and basic troubleshooting with DMMs and cable testers.
• Execute rework to IPC/WHMA-A-620 and support MRB containment.
• Maintain 5S/ESD and safety standards; suggest improvements for testability and iteration speed.
