Job summary

1X is hiring a Harness Technician to assemble wire harnesses and cable assemblies for robotic systems. You will read schematics, use hand tools, and verify with IPC-620 standards. The role requires meticulous soldering and problem-solving in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

You’ll work closely with engineers on prototypes and production rework, maintaining quality and accurate records while improving processes for efficiency and repeatable builds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2–3+ years in wire harness fabrication and assembly.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
• Proficiency with hand tools (crimpers, strippers, heat guns) and measurement tools (multimeter).
• IPC-620 certification.
• Strong soldering skills and troubleshooting ability for open/short circuits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver wire harnesses and cable assemblies that meet IPC-620 criteria with high first-pass yield.
• Own continuity and fault-isolation testing on completed harnesses before downstream work.
• Support prototype builds, rework for production, and adapt to daily shift changes.
• Perform on-bot reworks and debugging on the robot when issues arise.
• Reduce build and rework time by improving process, fixturing, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate, traceable records to raise DFM considerations early.
• Work independently with minimal direction, keeping workspace safe and audit-ready.
